The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned a deadly attack on a school in western Uganda.
The Ministry reaffirmed on Saturday Saudi Arabia’s firm rejection of such heinous acts, emphasizing that they go against religious principles and all moral and humanitarian values.
Armed men attacked a school in a remote area of Uganda near the Congo border, killing at least 41 people in a nighttime raid before fleeing across the porous frontier, authorities said. Thirty-eight students in their dormitories were among the victims.
The Ministry extended its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Uganda. It also expressed wishes for a swift recovery for those injured in the attack.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has given instructions for 1,300 pilgrims from more than 90 countries to perform Hajj this year at his expense, as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Hajj Guests Program, which is supervised and implemented annually by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, General Supervisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Hajj Guests Program Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh thanked the King and the Crown Prince for their generosity and keenness to see Muslims perform the rituals of Islam, and for assisting those who wish to perform Hajj.
The minister stressed that the gesture stems from the Kingdom’s desire to serve Islam and Muslims.
He added that the ministry has taken all measures needed to implement the royal order, in coordination with the Kingdom’s embassies and religious attachés abroad, by selecting the pilgrims and providing them with all the necessary help, including facilitating their visa process and providing services to them.
The minister pointed out that the ministry has an annual plan to select as many people of different nationalities as possible, who did not perform Hajj and help them do it.
