Muslim Association of Visually Impaired of Nigeria (MAVIN) under the leadership of Mallam Dairu Gambo (Amir) has urged Muslims to seize this auspicious moment to be more committed to the teachings of Islam as exemplified in the life of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
Gambo said, “The month of Ramadan is not only significant because of its fasting, it is a special month that calls for sincere repentance from all shortcomings and abstinence from all forms of immorality towards the attainment of the righteous position of piety”.
“It is important to emphasize that the manifestation of piety is inherent in the personal commitment to justice, peace, fairness and empathy towards the less privileged in the society.
“These are the fundamental principles of Islam and the core lessons to be derived from the special month of Ramadan, and Muslims are enjoined to be guided by these principles in their daily affairs.
“MAVIN wishes you all a successful completion of the fasting. May Allah accept all the strivings and acts of abstinence for His sake and make them a source of earning His eternal pleasure in this world and the hereafter, Amin. Ramadan Mubarak,” he added.
