Commission vows compliance with health guidelines by Muslim pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said strategic guidelines on COVID-19 preventive measures will be strictly adhere to for the 2021 hajj exercise.

Besides, the commission hinted of a close working relationship with the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and Federal Ministry of Health to safeguard Nigerian pilgrims during large the gatherings that go with pilgrimage preparations.

The moves followed the reopening of Saudi gateways for the holy journey.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON explained that the Saudi authorities reserved the “ultimate right to determine guidelines and operational regulations for 2021 Hajj and Umurah exercise.”
